Many counsellors consciously encourage a self reflective relationship with the body as part of the process of tuning into what can be observed and understood as we work together with people Something you really get to work with and learn from when you practice TRE is the power of that visceral reality Tension and trauma is not only taken up by the mind psychologically it is taken up by the body too To put it another way the meaning of what Antonio Demazio say's when he writes ''the mind is embodied not embrained' is made very tangible Introducing a TRE session can fit well with ongoing counselling work or vice versa Building capacity for self regulation and self reflection are found in both counselling and TRE and with that in common they cross over in a very complimentary way where both can be enhanced
